After three weeks of group-stage action, VCC OCE Season 6 has reached its knockout stage. Fourteen teams entered the competition, with eight now remaining in contention as the tournament moves into the playoffs.
The group stage delivered dominant runs, tightly contested races for playoff positions and, for some teams, roster issues that brought their campaigns to an early close. With the bracket now set, the remaining teams will have to carry their group-stage form into a different environment, where every series carries significantly greater weight.
Group A: Mommysgoodboy Lead the Way
Group A saw Mommysgoodboy establish themselves as one of the standout teams of the group stage. The team opened their campaign with a 2–0 victory over PupilsOfTheGame before continuing their run with wins over 50 Shoplifters, Prevail, The Polars, Disproportion and Atlas. Their 2–1 victory over 50 Shoplifters was particularly notable, while their final group-stage matches saw them close out the stage with 2–0 wins over Disproportion and Atlas. Their domination of Group A can mainly be attributed to PPGaming23 who boasts a 285.6 average ACS across the event so far.
Behind MGB, Disproportion and 50 Shoplifters both produced strong campaigns. Disproportion opened the stage with a 0–2 loss to PupilsOfTheGame before recovering with victories over 50 Shoplifters, Atlas, Prevail and The Polars. Their final meeting with MGB ended in another 0–2 defeat, giving them a difficult finish against the group leaders. For Disproportion, their best performing player is Initiator destroxx, showcasing a top rating of 1.62 and 210 ADR so far this event.
50 Shoplifters meanwhile began their campaign with a 2–0 victory over The Polars and followed it with wins over PupilsOfTheGame and Prevail. Their two losses came against Disproportion and MGB, before a 2–0 victory over Atlas rounded out their group-stage campaign.
Atlas experienced a more turbulent run. After defeating Prevail and The Polars, they recorded another 2–0 victory over PupilsOfTheGame before falling 0–2 to Disproportion and 0–2 to 50 Shoplifters. Their final meeting with MGB also ended 0–2, leaving them with plenty to consider heading into their playoff matchup.
Further down the group, roster instability affected the campaigns of both PupilsOfTheGame and Prevail. Rather than simply looking at their final records, their group-stage stories need to be viewed alongside the forfeits that occurred as their rosters became increasingly difficult to maintain.
With four teams progressing from the group, MGB, Disproportion, 50 Shoplifters and Atlas now move on to the playoffs.
Group B: TXG and Cherrys Set the Pace
Group B produced another closely watched battle at the top, with TXG and Cherrys Are YUCK emerging as two of the group’s strongest sides.
TXG opened their campaign with a 2–0 victory over SigmasOfAus and continued with wins over NS Overtime and Dark Horse Esports. Their group-stage run was eventually interrupted by Cherrys Are YUCK, who defeated TXG 2–0 on September 23. TXG responded with a 2–0 victory over Touch Grass the following day, finishing their group campaign with their place in the playoffs secured. The highlight of TXG is Duelist VANILLA with an outrageous performance across all statistics.
Cherrys Are YUCK also built a strong campaign. They began with a 2–0 victory over NS Overtime before adding wins against SigmasOfAus and Touch Grass. Their only setback came against Dark Horse Esports in the final round, where DHE claimed a 2–0 victory. The player to watch for this team is only just heating up; tea (aka: teasohot) is showcasing a devious 67% Clutch rate so far this event, an absolute threat in those 1vX’s.
Dark Horse’s campaign became increasingly important as the group progressed. After opening with a 2–0 win over Touch Grass, they suffered consecutive defeats to TXG and NS Overtime. They recovered with victories over SigmasOfAus and, most notably, Cherrys Are YUCK, giving them momentum heading into the playoffs.
VOLTA also secured their place in the knockout stage. Their campaign included wins over SigmasOfAus and Touch Grass, alongside losses to DHE and TXG. Their final group-stage meeting with Cherrys Are YUCK ended in a 0–2 defeat.
With the group stage complete, TXG, Cherrys Are YUCK, Dark Horse Esports and VOLTA make up Group B’s representatives in the playoffs.
The Playoff Bracket
The group stage has now produced four cross-group matchups, with each playoff series bringing together teams that took very different routes through the opening stage.

Mommysgoodboy enter the playoffs after a strong Group A campaign, while VOLTA arrive having navigated a much more mixed Group B.
For MGB, the challenge will be carrying the consistency they displayed throughout the group stage into the knockout bracket. Their wins over several of Group A’s playoff teams, including 50 Shoplifters, Disproportion and Atlas, gave them plenty of experience against the opposition they could encounter later in the bracket. VOLTA, meanwhile, will look to build on a group stage that included wins over SigmasOfAus and Touch Grass, as well as a 2–0 victory over NS Overtime. Their campaign also featured losses to DHE, TXG and Cherrys, giving them experience against several different styles of opposition before reaching the playoffs. (VLR Community Cup)

TXG and 50 Shoplifters both arrive with strong group-stage campaigns, making their first-round meeting one of the more intriguing matchups on the bracket.
TXG’s group stage included victories over SigmasOfAus, NS Overtime, Dark Horse Esports and Touch Grass, while their only recorded defeat came against Cherrys Are YUCK.
50 Shoplifters followed a similar path in Group A, recording wins over The Polars, PupilsOfTheGame, Prevail and Atlas. Their losses came against Disproportion and MGB, meaning their playoff campaign begins against another team that spent much of the group stage near the top of its group.

Atlas will face Cherrys Are YUCK after finishing their group-stage campaign with a mixture of dominant wins and difficult losses.
Atlas opened with 2–0 victories over Prevail and The Polars before adding another 2–0 win against PupilsOfTheGame. Their final three recorded series were considerably more difficult, with losses to Disproportion, 50 Shoplifters and MGB.
Cherrys, meanwhile, enter after defeating TXG during the group stage and closing their campaign against DHE. Their previous results against both teams provide a useful indication of the level of opposition they encountered in Group B, while Atlas will have to adjust to a new opponent after spending the group stage exclusively against Group A teams.

The final first-round matchup pits Disproportion against Dark Horse Esports.
Disproportion’s group-stage campaign included victories over 50 Shoplifters, Atlas, Prevail and The Polars, with their losses coming against PupilsOfTheGame and Mommysgoodboy. Their 2–0 victory over 50 Shoplifters was one of the more notable results from Group A and helped establish their position near the top of the group.
DHE experienced a more varied route through Group B. After defeating Touch Grass, they fell to both VOLTA and TXG before recovering against NS Overtime and SigmasOfAus. Their final group-stage result was arguably their most significant, defeating Cherrys Are YUCK 2–0 to close out the stage.
The matchup therefore brings together two teams that closed their group stages in very different circumstances, with both having already demonstrated an ability to take series from teams that will be competing elsewhere in the bracket.
Into the Knockout Stage
The group stage has separated the original fourteen-team field down to eight, but the format now changes considerably. There is no longer room for a slow start or a difficult week to be recovered from over several rounds of group play.
Mommysgoodboy, TXG, Atlas, Cherrys Are YUCK, Disproportion, Dark Horse Esports, 50 Shoplifters and VOLTA now begin their playoff campaigns, with the Upper Bracket Round 1 matchups set across the bracket.
A reminder that two losses and you’re out, no third times’ the charm this time around.
After three weeks of group-stage competition, VCC OCE Season 6 enters its final stage.
