The first week of the group stage of VCC APAC Season 13 has concluded, and here are the winners and losers of the week. It ended up being a very eventful week, with many records set and broken.

Week 2 action starts tonight, with ShyBoys taking on Fububu's Kittens (8pm SGT), and Swag's Chickenchop Shop taking on G3 Esports (9pm SGT).

Winners of the week

Noob Minds (2-0)

Noob Minds (NM) are off to a 2-0 start, dominating both of their opening matches against RS and Niche Community (NC). They opened the season with a commanding 2-0 victory against NC, with a 13-2 win on Lotus, before following it up with another statement win vs RS, with a 13-1 win on Ascent, going 52-18 in total rounds.

Leading the charge is iongers, posting an impressive 1.48 rating, with Hamza right behind him at 1.50, the two veterans already firing on all cylinders. xiaobuwor has also been a major factor with a 1.34 rating, giving Noob Minds a dangerous third star at the top of the scoreboard. Meanwhile, enoki has quietly put together a strong 1.26 rating, proving that this roster has firepower across the board.

With four players sitting above a 1.25 rating, Noob Minds are quickly cementing themselves as one of the favorites to win VCC APAC Season 13.

G3 Esports (2-0)

G3 Esports (G3) had the last two games of the match week, and ended it on top of group B. They won their first match 2-0 against Marin's Men (MM), with el pistolero posting a 1.66 rating and a +21 kill differential. The second match versus ShyBoys (SHY) was closer, with them losing Haven 12-14, but G3 recovered thanks to k1t's IGLing and overall well-balanced performances from each player on the team.

G3 were ranked last in the early power rankings. With wins over the two teams immediately above them, will these performances hold against the projected contenders?

FUN Esports (1-0)

The underdogs of the tournament, FUN Esports (FUN) wasted no time proving they belong with the top dogs. Facing Mane 6 (M6), the predicted #2 seed of Group A, FUN pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the opening stage.

After a shaky start on Lotus, where they fell 13-8, FUN bounced back when wouper decided to take over the series. Going absolutely nuclear, the rookie posted an incredible 2.51 rating, currently ranking among the Top 3 highest ratings recorded on a single map, to help lead FUN to a stunning 2-1 series victory.

Now with the underdogs officially on the map, the question is simple: Can wouper and the rest of FUN continue this cinderella run, win the hearts of the people, and make a deep run this season?

Swag's Chickenchop Shop (1-0)

The predicted #2 seed of Group B has made a statement, taking down the predicted #1 seed Fububu's Kittens (FBK) in a clean 2-0 victory to put Swag's Chickenchop Shop (SCS) on the board with their first win of the group stage.

Leading the charge was PhantomPiez, who delivered a monstrous performance on Lotus with a 1.85 rating, topping it off with an ace to put the entire lobby on notice. Alongside him, qwert and swagmeister complete the three pronged spear, with qwert posting a strong 1.26 rating and swagmeister following closely behind at 1.19.

With the Chickenchop Shop already serving up some fiery performances, the question now is: Can SCS keep the heat going and satisfy the crowd with more chicken chops?

Losers of the week

Mane 6 (0-1)

The predicted #2 seed of Group A has stumbled out of the gate in a result only few were expecting, falling to FUN behind a standout performance from wouper.

Despite kizukii and Dirt's strong performance (1.42, 1.11 rating respectively), ab4yfx struggled to make an impact, posting a 0.67 rating in the loss, leaving M6 with plenty to figure out early.

With M6 yet to find their footing, can the ponies turn things around and mount a push for the top spot?

Fububu's Kittens (0-2)

Perhaps the biggest difference in power ranking to performance, the predicted #1 seed of Group B has dug themselves an early hole, falling 0-2 to the predicted #2 and #3 seeds, SCS and rats (xdd), in two matches that looked firmly within reach. Despite their losses, their round differential ends up only being a -9.

With Fuwa and the rest of his kittens now sitting at 0-2, the pressure is on to turn things around. Can FBK claw their way into the playoffs, or will the rest of Group B send the kittens to sleep?

Marin's Men (0-2)

The other 0-2 team in Group B, Marin’s Men have yet to show the potential that earned them their power ranking. After a narrow 1-2 loss to Random Idiots on X (RIX), the Men were unable to find their footing against G3, leaving them on the brink early in the group stage.

With their backs against the wall, sleepy will need the rest of the squad to lock in and deliver. Can Marin’s Men wake up in time to start a comeback arc, or will their playoff hopes fade away?

Niche Community (0-2)

Niche Community were the other victims of NM’s rampage, taking just nine rounds in a one-sided 0-2 loss. Things did not get much easier against Team Verity (VRT), with NC falling 1-2 in another series that went down to the wire, including an insane overtime battle on Summit, which broke records.

Now sitting at 0-2, the Niche Community are running out of room for mistakes. Will they remain niche, or is it finally time for the community to go mainstream?
